Sapp Coffee Shop

COVID-19 UPDATE: The front door has a table blocking entry (January 2021), customers stand here on the other side of a plastic divider for takeout or pickup orders.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Part of the "Los Angeles Classics" series. This small article was updated on 29 January 2021 with COVID-19 info and photos from a recent takeout order.

Sapp Coffee Shop in Los Angeles Thai Town has been around since the 1980's, opening early in the morning to satisfy those A.M. cravings for boat noodles ($9.75, below) or maybe cure a hangover or two.

The modest dining room feels like being around family, especially as fresh ingredients arrive in the morning.

Tom yum noodles ($9.75, left) and Jade noodles ($12, right).

The beloved jade noodles.
