The official home of Danish supporters in Los Angeles has been the small Irish pub Joxer Daly's in Culver City for quite some time now. While you will not find any Danish food here, you will find the passion of many supporters who often fill the place out during big Euro Cup or qualifying matches. The World Cup will take things to the next level, and plus you can walk across the street for goodies from Copenhagen Pastry after every match like many Danes end up doing.

After making the semifinals of last year's Euro Cup, Denmark will enter the tournament this year with their eyes on the prize. The second match of this day, Danes in Los Angeles needed to get up early for their 05:00 match unlike the Argentinians that had to stay up late. A basket of warm morgenboller (breakfast rolls, below) showed up shortly after kickoff thanks one of the fans, and it would only be an hour before alcohol could be legally purchased.

A 05:00 weekday match did not bring with it much expectation for a big crowd, but the Danish people in Los Angeles still formed a healthy and boisterous crowd, some carpooling from the Valley. Many wore their jerseys, while others wore viking and Carlsberg headgear and Danish flag jackets, making the mood very festive in the dimly lit space.

The match itself was rather un-festive unfortunately, the first of two 0:0 draws that made for a long morning. Denmark came in expecting to win the match, but Tunisia had a ton of energy and had their chances as well. Good goalkeeping for both sides kept it scoreless, and Denmark will have to take points from group leading France in their next match.
