First of all, apologies for the "break" from action. It appears that the 7th match had a little added "spice" in the recipe and I spent two days puking my guts out. With plenty of sleep for the first night in a week, and the sickness behind, on with the show... The few Welsh folks that call Los Angeles home did not really have their watch party enthusiasm together in a fruitful way, but there were exactly two British pubs in the area that were determined to stay open for a match that most people probably slept through even on the east coast. But Eat the World Los Angeles is determined, and now thanks to being sick, quite a ways behind.

The first of two stops was White Harte Public House in Woodland Hills, which turned out to be a very pro-Iranian crowd thanks to its neighborhood and Persian owner. Moving elsewhere, but still with no Welsh to be found in the wee hours, two Chicano LAFC fans had come from their late Thanksgiving dinner with family to watch the match at Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena and cheer on Gareth Bale and Wales. But even they were convinced to swap allegiances by the end as Iran dominated the game and deserved their eventual victory.

For the second straight match it was what happened before kickoff that grabbed the headlines for Iran, this time allegedly being forced to sing their national anthem after the previous match's silent protest. Fans in the stand boo'd and jeered the entire song, and many could be seen crying. But the team also came to play this time, taking the game to Wales who look disjointed like they did for most of the USA match. They were even picking the ball out of the back of their net in the first half before being saved by VAR.

In the second half it was more of the same with Iran pressing and hitting the woodwork multiple times. The match remained even into stoppage time, and thanks to the bounty of that this tournament, Iran finally put in two past a now thoroughly exhausted Wales team. With this result, the Welsh have really put themselves behind the 8 ball, needing to beat England in their final match and get some other help along the way.
