If you noticed people commenting on this goalless draw as boring as it was happening, you can be assured that they know very little about football or are a fan of El Tri, knowing that they are going to be all but eliminated from the World Cup tomorrow and angry that their US rivals were able to get a point off of one of the tournament's favorites. The match itself was anything but boring, especially for the US fans who are starting to see some cohesion from their very young squad.

The English fans at Santa Monica's Britannia Pub did not find the match boring either, but rather a frustrating result in a match they went into very cocky. The momentum came and went for both teams in both halves, and there was not clear domination either way except for ten minute periods at a time. On balance, the USA ended with a higher expected goals and passed the eye test.

Britannia Pub is not the cleanest place, does not smell the freshest, and getting to the bathroom while it is crowded is basically impossible, but while the match was on the atmosphere was very good. The English fans were in full voice and the US fans in attendance did their best to return chants and spur on their team. The smart move here for future fans coming is to reserve one of the tables in the back and get table service so you do not have problems getting food and drink orders that sometimes vanish into the void from the bar.

But maybe the food never coming was a blessing for those that did not receive it, because honesty the English breakfast that was ordered during the match before England-USA to grab a nice seat was possibly the worst you can find in Los Angeles. If the result of the match were to be based on that mess, England would have been defeated by six goals.

Kind of a horror show when you bite in.
